Industry pump enamel technology effect on pump performance

Enamel puts vitric glaze coating on the metal base material surface, through high temperature sintering, between enamels and metal occurs physical chemical reaction and solid combination, on the whole, with metallic mechanical strength, the surface has the corrosion resistant, heat-resistant, wear resistance, easy clean and decorating glass coating material. It is mainly used for steel, cast iron, aluminum etc surface and widely application.
一 The enamel basic elements
Enamels puts certain composed glass material frit and additives together for crushing mixes to make slurries, then burned on the metal surface to form a coatings.
二 Enamel substrate surface cleaning
Metal green body should be soda-wash, pickling or gush arenaceous before enameling, in order to clean rust, degreasing. Pump castings generally use shot-blasting, grit blast, low temperature drying.
三 enamel coating and formation
1. The enamel coating methods basically has manual coating, spray honing, immersion honing, electrophoresis, electrostatic spraying coated honing and other kinds. Generally according to the quantity and quality requirements, raw materials, productivity etc to reasonable selection coating method.
2. Enamel formation according to different products to choose the appropriate temperature and time. Pump casting enamel burning craft is commonly: 7l< 300 ℃ charging →heating 550~820℃→ power off cooling →< 300℃ out.
四 The performance requirements of the castings
Enamel casting should have good liquidity, organization structures must density, tiny graphite, pore-free, crack defects. Its mechanical properties and chemical composition should comply with the provisions of the following tables:
五 Enamel influence to pump performance
Enamel coating with its outstanding glass characteristics and good physical and mechanical properties, make it widely used in pump industry application.

The enamel application of technology makes pump had superior corrosion resistance to chemical medium, can withstand variety of inorganic acid and organic acids, weak acid and organic solvent, and oil resistance, non-toxic, non-polluting, no hanging material and electrical insulating etc, and significantly extend cast iron pump applicable scope.
2. Enamel technology application makes pump flow components more smooth, thereby reducing the fluid flow friction losses and improve pump work efficiency, practice proves can improve efficiency around 5%, significantly energy-saving.
